Ever feel like you need to be a computer programmer to make a post? Well… we want to help make it easier for you!
In this area we are breaking down the most confusing code used on DM. (For a full list please visit here.)
The most important thing: BBCode uses [ ] <– brackets. Frame your code in them or it won’t work.
How to Insert a Link:
The Basic Code:
[url][/url]
Making it work:
[url=https://evilplottersink.com/]The text you want the link to frame.[/url]
The information in BOLD is where your link needs to go. Don’t forget the = sign!!!! To make sure it’s working, preview it! If it isn’t working, check to make sure you didn’t add any extra spacing anywhere in the link area, (that’s the stuff inside the brackets.)
How to Insert an Image:
First, you have to have it online already and the link directly to it.
The Basic Code:
[img][/img]
Making it work:
[img]https://evilplottersink.com/images/image_name.jpg[/img]
The information in BOLD is where you put your information. Hit the preview button and see the results! If you see the code and no image, check your spacing and make sure the brackets are closed.
How to Put Names in Quotes:
The Basic Code:
[quote][/quote]
Making it Work:
[quote="LdyBelial"]FFRP is AWESOME![/quote]
The information in BOLD is what you need to supply. Don’t forget = sign, or the quotation marks encapsulating the name, it won’t work without them. Hit preview and see what it looks like! “LdyBelial wrote” should be displayed above the quote box. If it isn’t working, check the spacing of the = sign and the name, make sure you have the quotes around the name and that the brackets are closed.
